Semana Santa 2017

Semana Santa 2017

You can smell the myrrh all over the streets and hear the melancholic music from far away. Almost monthly there will be processions. Try and see one and become part of this unique tradition. Especially the processions of the famous Semana Santa, the week before Easter are very impressive. Several brotherhoods carry along the streets their enormous elaborately decorated thrones on which you´ll see the statues of saints.

Málaga has some amazing parks. Paseo del Parque runs from the historical centre all the way to the district Malagueta. And also the Botanical Garden La Concepción, just outside the centre, is worth a visit. Leave the beaten (cycle) path on a four hours tour to the nature area of Guadalhorce and discover the rough side of Málaga or take a look at the English Cemetery and the beautiful San Miguel Cemetery.
